A powerful Ayurvedic water infusion made with ajwain (carom seeds) for digestive relief.
🌱 Why this works
- Ajwain Seeds: Rich in thymol, they stimulate digestive juices, reduce gas, and relieve stomach cramps.
- Warm Water: Enhances absorption and soothes indigestion.
Ajwain belongs to the same plant family as cumin, fennel and coriander — the carminative seeds Indian kitchens have long reached for after a heavy meal.
🌿 Ingredients
- 1 tsp Ajwain (Carom Seeds)
- 2 cups Water
🥄 How to Make Ajwain Water
Option 1: Soaked Ajwain Water
- Soak 1 tsp ajwain in 2 cups water overnight.
- Strain and drink next morning on an empty stomach.
Option 2: Ajwain Tea
- Boil 1 tsp ajwain in 2 cups water for 5 minutes.
- Strain and drink warm after meals.
👉 Best for: Gas, indigestion, acidity, and stomach cramps.
🔥 Soaked or boiled — not the same drink
The two methods above give genuinely different results, and the choice matters more than it looks.
Soaking overnight draws the thymol out slowly into cold water. The result is milder, and it is the version suited to drinking daily on an empty stomach.
Boiling pulls far more thymol out in five minutes. It is stronger and noticeably more warming — better kept for an occasional heavy meal than made a daily habit.
Ajwain is ushna, heating in potency. In peak summer, or for anyone already prone to acidity or heartburn, the soaked version is the gentler of the two.
